Dr. Sola Olamikan has over 10 years of medical experience in both anesthesiology and multidisciplinary pain medicine, including several years practicing with the pediatric population. He is triple-board certified in anesthesiology, pediatric anesthesiology and pain medicine
After obtaining a medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, Dr. Olamikan completed his internship in Family Medicine at the University of Texas, also in Houston, Texas. His residency took place at the State University of New York, followed by his first fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at the University of Colorado in Denver. He began his next fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque and completed it at the University of Washington, Seattle. During this period, he had an opportunity to visit Alaska and decided it was an excellent place to live. He also earned a MBA in Healthcare Management and Leadership.
Dr. Olamikan is an accomplished educator. He was an associate professor at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School and Children's Health Medical Center in Dallas where he was a Pediatric Anesthesiologist and a Pediatric Pain Specialist. He also served adult populations while stationed in Seattle, Washington.
A strong advocate for the advancement of physical and mental pain management, Dr. Olamikan strives to incorporate multimodal and multidisciplinary approaches (including, but not limited to medications, procedures and interventions, mental-health care, physical therapy, patient teaching and empowerment and alternative medicine) in achieving the optimal outcome for patients and clients tailored to their specific needs.
